THE ART OF A BETTER INTRODUCTION

Before you print: your artwork checklist.

Practical advice for making your next introduction a little simpler.

A business card has very little space to do a lot of work. A clear brief and careful proof check make all the difference.

1. Start with the essentials.

Confirm names, job titles, company spelling, email addresses and phone numbers. Decide which details belong in the print and which should be encoded digitally. Only include information you intend to share.

2. Use your best brand files.

Provide a vector logo where possible. Avoid low-resolution screenshots. Ask Cardistry for the exact dimensions, bleed, safe area and colour requirements before preparing final exports.

3. Choose your sides deliberately.

Single-sided print works well for a focused identity. Double-sided print can separate the brand statement from practical contact information. Neither route needs to become a wall of text.

4. Treat QR as functional artwork.

Keep its background clear, preserve the quiet zone and check the actual-size printed result with multiple scanners. A decorative QR that cannot be scanned is simply a very complicated square.

5. Proof the data, not just the design.

Check every visible character and every encoded field. Confirm the NFC format on intended devices, and make sure a contact QR contains your information rather than an unintended URL. Approve the final proof before production.
